On "Ugly Betty," Daniel yearns to be a dad, but in real life actor Eric Mabius has had that desire fulfilled.

The actor and his wife, Ivy Sherman, have welcomed their second son into the world on Sunday, Dec. 7, in New York City, reports People.

The boy, who weighed an impressive 10 lbs. and a few ounces at birth, is named Rylan Jaxson Mabius.

He already has an older brother, Maxfield Elliot, 2.

Mabius, 37, and his interior designer wife first met in high school and married in February 2006 in New Orleans. They recently relocated from Los Angeles to New York, where "Ugly Betty" is now filming. On the show, Mabius plays Daniel Meade, the co-editor in chief of Mode fashion magazine. After taking care of his French-born nephew for a while, Daniel now has the desire to settle down and be a father.
