Heather Locklear Pleads No Contest to Reckless Driving
The DUI charges against the actress were dropped
The actress has instead pleaded no contest to reckless driving for September arrest in Santa Barbara, Calif., reports TMZ.com.
On Sept. 27, Locklear, 47, was arrested after a paparazzo posing as an eyewitness notified the police that she was driving erratically. The actress was parked on a state highway when officers found her.
At the time, prescription medications were allegedly found in her system, but not alcohol or illegal narcotics.
Reckless driving, a misdemeanor, is a much lesser offense than a DUI. Locklear will be placed on three years informal probation, pay a $700 fine, and be required to attend a 12-hour drug education course.
In July, Locklear exited an Arizona rehab facility where she was treated for anxiety and depression. In March, paramedics responded to Locklear's home after a 911 caller reported the actress was on the verge of a suicide attempt.
Locklear recently completed work on a Lifetime movie called "Flirting with 40." Her other recent credits include another Lifetime flick, "Angels Fall," and guest appearances on "Hannah Montana" and "Rules of Engagement."
