Jennifer Garner Seeks Permanent Restraining Order for Stalker
The actress fears for the safety of herself and her family
Jennifer Garner is taking steps to ensure the safety of her growing family. The "Juno" actress has filed an order to keep her alleged stalker Steven Burky away from her and her family, reports TMZ.com.
In court papers, Garner claims that "Mr. Burky has been stalking and harassing me," sending "packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country ."
The behavior has been going on since 2002, and has "escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening." He once showed up at Garner's home and told her, "God has sent him a vision of her being persecuted in some manner that may result in her death."
Burky once wrote to the Satanic Panic blog, asking, "Are multitudes of adults resorting to human sacrifices and then repressing this information from fear of Christ?"
Garner claims she fears for herself, Affleck, their daughter Violet and their second, currently gestating child.
A hearing will take place Thursday (Nov. 20) to make the temporary restraining order, which was issued earlier this month, permanent.
Garner, 36, last appeared in "The Kingdom" and "Juno." Her upcoming films include "This Side of Truth" and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past."
