Jennifer Garner Wins Restraining Order Against Stalker
Steven Burky will have to stay away from the actress and her family for three years
Hopefully, Jennifer Garner has some peace of mind now.The former "Alias" star won a restraining order Thursday (Nov. 20) against a man she claims has been stalking her for years, report news sources.
The order will grant Garner, her husband Ben Affleck and their daughter Violet three years of protection from Steven R. Burky, 36.
Earlier this month, Garner had petitioned for protection from Burky, whom she claimed had been harassing her since 2002. In court documents, she say his "obsessive, threatening and stalking behavior" were a threat to her and her family.
Besides following her across the country, showing up on her doorstep and tracking her down at an event to give her roses, Burky has also sent her numerous letters containing "delusional and paranoid thoughts."
The behavior has reportedly escalated "to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening." Garner, who is pregnant with Baby No. 2, also expressed fear for her unborn child.
As part of the order, Burky must stay 100 yards away from Garner, her family, the nanny, housekeeper, and others. He cannot come near her home, Violet's school or her workplace.
Garner, 36, last appeared in "The Kingdom" and "Juno." Her upcoming films include "This Side of Truth" and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past."
