Reality TV star met her fiancee on a blind date

Jen Schefft may have gone the Kelly Taylor route by choosing herself over her two suitors on the third season of "The Bachelorette," but she's finally accepted one man's proposal.

The former reality show contestant and her boyfriend Joe Waterman are engaged, reports People.

"I'm so excited and so happy," says Schefft, 32, about her trader fiancee, 35.

Schefft had gone on a blind date, who didn't work out but then turned around and set her up on the date with Waterman in February.

"I figured I had to go out with Joe since I'd never been set up by someone I'd already gone on a date with," she explains.

Schefft is not averse to taking a risk when it comes to love. She first threw her romantic lot in with the rest of the contestants on "The Bachelor," which somewhat paid off when winery owner Andrew Firestone proposed to her at the end. They split up only a few months later. In recent news, newlywed Firestone and his wife Ivana Bozilovic announced they're expecting their first child.

Schefft once again entered the romance ring with "The Bachelorette," making the decisions this time. When it came down to her final two guys, however, she opted to stay single instead of choosing one of them. This led to her penning the book, "Better Single Than Sorry."

Schefft and Waterman both hail from Ohio and currently live in Chicago where they plan to wed next year in a small ceremony.
