Boyfriend claims she gave him a black eye and split his cheek

Watch out. Kelly Bensimon, "The Real Housewives of New York City's" newest addition is a woman to be reckoned with.

The 40-year-old former model, writer and equestrian was arrested on Thursday, March 5 for allegedly hitting her boyfriend and splitting his cheek open, reports People.

According to the New York City Police Department, Bensimon punched boyfriend Nicholas Stefanov in the face, giving him a black eye and a laceration on his left cheek. He then fled the apartment and went to the police.

Bensimon is facing misdemeanor third-degree assault charges and has entered a "not guilty" plea because "the charges are unfounded," claims her lawyer, Stephen Turano.

Bensimon has an uncertain relationship with Stefanov. Sources say that he insists they're engaged, but claim he's "delusional" and that he and Bensimon are free to date other people because they're not exclusive.
