Lacey Schwimmer 'Insanely Weak' From Endometriosis
The 'Dancing With the Stars' pro is on medication, won't have surgery
"Dancing With the Stars" pro Julianne Hough is not alone with her medical condition.Fellow dancer Lacey Schwimmer was diagnosed Wednesday (Oct. 29) with endometriosis, the same condition that Hough has, reports The Insider.
"Just a few days ago I started feeling very shaky, very weak and I had awful cramps going on, and I didn't really know what was going on," says Schwimmer. "Julianne got sent to the hospital the day I was starting to feel a little weird and then she came back and told everyone what was going on with her."
"I went to go get checked out today and I actually have the beginning onset of what Julianne has, which is endometriosis, and it hurts very bad," admits the dancer. "Right now I'm insanely weak, and the room is spinning."
Fortunately, by catching the onset of the condition so early, Schwimmer has been able to treat it with medication and will hopefully be able to avoid surgery, a procedure that Hough underwent recently to remove her appendix, which was affected by endometriosis. Schwimmer gives an update:
"Julianne is doing great and just had the surgery this morning. She's in bed. She has her boyfriend there. She has her mom, her sisters, her dog, so she's great."
When asked how Schwimmer planned to make it through rehearsals and performances with her weakness, she replied, "I don't even know."
Schwimmer was a finalist on "So You Think You Can Dance" and currently pair with celebrity Lance Bass from boy band *N Sync.
