Prosecutors say Holloway was one of several victims

A grand jury in Hawaii has indicted a man accused of robbing "Lost" star Josh Holloway and his wife at gunpoint last fall.

Ruben E. Royce, 21, was indicted Thursday (June 8) on more than 30 counts of armed robbery, burglary and, most seriously, attempted second-degree murder for five separate incidents last September and October. If convicted, he faces a potential life prison term on the murder charge.

Prosecutors say Holloway, who plays Sawyer on the ABC drama, and his wife were the fourth set of victims in a series of five home-invasion robberies allegedly committed by Royce, who has prior convictions for car theft. Police say Royce broke into their home in a suburb of Honolulu in October and threatened to kill the couple. The robber took some cash and the couple's Mercedes, which was recovered a short time later.

The five robberies Royce is accused of occurred in several neighborhoods around Honolulu. Royce at one time live near Holloway's home, but otherwise there doesn't appear to be a pattern, according to prosecutors.

"He just randomly went to several homes looking for expensive cars ... assuming they had money if they had expensive cars," Deputy Prosecutor Maurice Arrisgado tells the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

The attempted-murder charge against Royce stems from an incident the week before Holloway was robbed. Royce is accused of firing several shots from a .45-caliber pistol at a couple who were leaning against a door to prevent him from entering. The bullets missed their targets.

Royce was arrested on Oct. 18, the same day he allegedly committed the last crime on the spree. A judge Thursday set bail at $1 million. An alleged accomplice on two of the robberies was also indicted Thursday and is in jail in lieu of $100,00 bail.
