Morgan Freeman Injuries: Broken Arm, Elbow
Actor will undergo surgery, but is in good spirits
Morgan Freeman didn't escape unscathed from his late-night car accident in Mississippi, but the extent of his injuries are not life threatening."He has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage but he is in good spirits," says the actor's rep, according to People. "He is going to have surgery this afternoon or tomorrow to correct the damage. He says he'll be okay and is looking forward to a full recovery."
" The Dark Knight" actor, 71, is reportedly in good spirits after his car accident Sunday night, Aug. 3 in which he was driving his friend's car when it flipped over several times around 11:30 p.m. He and his passenger, Demaris Meyer, were removed from the wreck using the jaws of life, and then he was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis.
At the time, he was listed in "serious" condition.
Thus far, there has been no word on the cause of the accident, although the use of alcohol is not suspected.
