Nick Nolte Injured in Burning Home
Actor's Malibu home received millions in damage from the fire
The Oscar nominee suffered injuries when his Malibu house caught fire today (Oct. 7), reports TMZ.com.
The LA County Fire Department got a call at 11:34 am Tuesday and when they arrived, found Nolte trying to extinguish the fire himself. As a result of his efforts, he suffered smoke inhalation and abrasions.
The latest report says he's still at home but plans on seeing his physcian later today.
The fire started as the result of an electrical malfunction in one of the bedrooms. Damage estimates range from $1 to $3 million.
Nolte, 67, played John "Four Leaf" Tayback, the author of the war memoir being adapted into the film in "Tropic Thunder."
