Nicollette Sheridan, Michael Bolton Break Engagement
'Desperate Housewives' star says the breakup was amicable
The couple, who announced their engagement in 2006, has broken things off. No reason was given, but the split appears not to be acrimonious.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," Sheridan's rep tells People. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."
Sheridan and Bolton have a long history together. They dated for several years in the 1990s, following her divorce from Harry Hamlin, and then rekindled their relationship after she ended her engagement to Nicklas Soderblom in 2005. Not long after that, Bolton and Sheridan announced they were engaged and planning to marry in the near future.
That, of course, didn't happen, so now Bolton will have to figure out how he's supposed to live without her.
Sheridan is currently at work on the fifth season of "Desperate Housewives," which premieres on ABC Sunday, Sept. 28.
