It will be the first child for the 'Bend It Like Beckham' actress and her longtime boyfriend

Parminder Nagra may be unlucky in love on "ER," but in real life she's about to take a big step in her relationship.

The English actress and her photographer boyfriend James Stenson are expecting their first child this summer, reports Usmagazine.com.

"We are thrilled and overjoyed at the prospect of becoming first-time parents," says Nagra, 33.

The couple has been together for nearly seven years and will continue to live in Los Angeles after they wed.

"Yes, our plans are to get married but there's no confirmed date yet," she explains. "The plan is to stay in L.A. We still have a home in London, so eventually the plan is to be bi-costal, but who knows what the future holds? We are just taking it one day at a time."

Thus far, there are no plans to write the pregnancy into the show or for Nagra to take time off from work.

With the departure of Maura Tierney, Nagra is currently the most senior regular cast member on "ER." She plays Dr. Neela Rasgotra, a surgical resident who has had previous romantic relationships with the characters played by Shane West and John Stamos, among others.

Nagra is also known for her breakout role in the soccer coming of age comedy "Bend It Like Beckham," costarring Kiera Knightley and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
