Robin Williams' Wife Files for Divorce

The couple has been together for 19 years

Funnyman Robin Williams isn't laughing about the state of his marriage.

The comedian's wife Marsha Garces filed a divorce petition on Friday, March 21, reports People.

The petition, filed in San Francisco, cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for divorce.

The couple has been married for 19 years and have two children together: daughter Zelda, 18, and son Cody, 16. Garces is seeking joint legal custody of Cody, attorney fees and spousal support.

Williams, 56, was first married to Valerie Velardi, with whom he has a 24-year-old son, Zak. The marriage ended in 1988, and in April 1989 he married Garces, 51, who was his son's babysitter at the time.

Garces also acted as producer on several of Williams' films, including "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Patch Adams" and "Jakob the Liar."
