Shia LaBeouf: No DUI, But License Possibly Suspended
Actor's latest film opens the day of his hearing
The "Eagle Eye" star won't be charged with driving under the influence for a car accident that occurred in late July, but he may get his license suspended, reports TMZ.com.
Early on July 27, LaBeouf, 22, was in a car accident in Hollywood when another car ran a red light and hit his vehicle. The actor sustained injuries to his hand that required surgery and having the condition written into "Transformers 2," the movie he was filming.
The DUI charge was rejected on the grounds of insufficient evidence because he did not submit to a blood alcohol test. He's not off the hook though. In LA, when an individual refuses to take a blood alcohol test, that person's license can be suspended for up to nine months. LaBeouf's DMV hearing is Friday, Sept. 26.
LaBeouf last starred in Steven Spielberg's " Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." His latest film, "Eagle Eye" with Michelle Monaghan, opens nationwide today.
