Uma Thurman is hoping the third time will be the charm for her marriage.

The Oscar-nominated "Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction" star has gotten engaged to Swiss financier Arpad Busson. He proposed this week in London, New York's Daily News reports, presenting Thurman with a ring that is described as so large "she can't fit it through the sleeve of her coat."

Thurman, 38, and Busson, 44, have been involved for about a year, having met at a dinner in Milan.

The marriage will be the third for Thurman. She has two children with ex-husband Ethan Hawke (they divorced in 2004) and was also married to Gary Oldman for a couple years in the early 1990s. Busson has two children with supermodel Elle Macpherson; they split up in 2005.

Busson's breakup with Macpherson, the Daily News says, was partly a result of his refusal to marry a divorced woman, in conflict with his Catholic beliefs. Presumably he's reconciled those feelings now.

Thurman will next be seen in "The Accidental Husband," which is due in theaters in September.
