Producer Johnny Vieira is suing the "High School Musical" star for millions for his help launching her career, reports TMZ.com.

The lawsuit, which was filed Monday (Aug. 11) in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims that Vieira and Hudgens, 19, entered into a production agreement in May 2005 to launch her career. Since she was only a minor at the time, the agreement -- in which they were to "share equally" in the profits -- was court approved.

At one point Hudgens sent Vieira a photo of herself, inscribing it: "Johnny, thank you for everything, without you, I would be no where [sic], we will make it BIG- Vanessa Hudgens. Sweet."

After 2006's "High School Musical" became a hit, Hudgens dumped Vieira, and they entered into a settlement agreement. After an "expensive audit," he claims that Hudgens has been violating that deal.

The producer is suing for more than $5 million plus punitive damages.

The third installment of the Disney franchise, "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," will be released theatrically in late October.
