John McTiernan indicted in Pellicano case
Director helmed 'Die Hard,' 'Predator'
John McTiernan was indicted Friday by a grand jury after a guilty plea on two counts of lying to the FBI and one count of perjury, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
McTiernan's plea came almost exactly three years ago. The director then tried to change his plea in February, denying in court he had hired private investigator Anthony Pellicano -- serving a 15-year sentence for wiretap and racketeering charges -- to spy on fellow producer Charles Roven. Charges stem from McTiernan's testimony during that plea and retraction.
No word on what punishment, including jail time, McTiernan faces.
Could it be McTiernan underestimated his opponents? As villain Hans Gruber sarcastically hissed in "Die Hard," "You asked for miracles, Theo, I give you the FBI."
