Oscar winner is 'touched by everyone's support'

Robin Williams won't continue his one-man show tour after all.

The comedian has canceled all the shows for his "Weapons of Self-Destruction" tour in order to "undergo surgery for an aortic valve replacement," according to his reps. It is hoped that if all goes well, Williams will resume his tour in the fall.

"I'm so touched by everyone's support and well wishes," Williams says in a statement. "This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up."

Williams started his 80-city tour last September. When he began experiencing "shortness of breath," he checked into a Florida hospital for evaluation. He was recommended a week of rest initially.

He will next appear on the big screen in the family comedy sequel "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," which hits theaters nationwide in May.
