Yeardley Smith and Daniel Erickson have been married for six years

The usually chipper Lisa Simpson isn't sounding so happy these days.

Yeardley Smith, who provides the voice for "The Simpsons" brainy character Lisa, filed for divorce on Wednesday, May 21, from her husband Daniel Erickson, reports TMZ.com.

The petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court cited irreconcilable differences for the split. Smith, 43, is requesting that she not be ordered to pay spousal support.

The couple tied the knot in 2002 and has no children. Smith was previously wed to actor Christopher Grove, whom she divorced in 1992.

The Emmy-winning Smith originally auditioned for the role of Bart, but landed the role of Lisa on the long-running FOX primetime cartoon. The actress had battled bulimia for over 20 years, and her character also suffered through an eating disorder in one episode.
