The central cast of the original movie in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise – Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster – is reunited in this fourth chapter, successful because it adds solid character development to the expectedly frantic automotive action.

A personal tragedy reunites the former enemies played by Diesel and Walker to bring down a smuggling kingpin.

Director Justin Lin also handled the series' previous film, "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift."
