Somewhat along the lines of "Se7en," this melodrama casts Dennis Quaid as a widowed sleuth who determines a series of murders is inspired by the legend of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

On the personal side, his increasing obsession with the gruesome crimes causes him to ignore the needs of his sons.

Ziyi Zhang ("Memoirs of a Geisha"), Peter Stormare ("Fargo"), Patrick Fugit ("Almost Famous") and veteran character actor Paul Dooley also appear.
