DVD review
'Land of the Lost'
The kitschy, Krofft Brothers-produced Saturday-morning series from the 1970s gets an update that stays just cheesy enough in this feature-film version.
As played by Will Ferrell, the central character has been changed from a park ranger to a paleontologist who teams with an admirer (Anna Friel, "Pushing Daisies") to test a time-travel invention. That sends them and a companion (Danny McBride, "Tropic Thunder") back to a land of dinosaurs and primitive Sleestaks.
*** DVD extras: two "making-of'' documentaries; audio commentary by director Brad Silberling; deleted scenes. (PG-13: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
