'Mamma Mia! The Movie' (Two-Disc Special Edition)
The stars (Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and more) are game, and they seem to have had a lot of fun making the movie. Most of their audiences will have just as much fun watching it.
The first disc of the two-disc version has the feature film (normal and sing-along versions). The second disc contains deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes features, a music video and outtakes.
DVD Bonus Features:
The Good: The sing-along feature is pure genius. You can play the entire movie with just the songs translated to sing-along mode, or you can skip directly to your favorite. This single feature's going to wear out some discs at parties.
The Bad: Star Amanda Seyfried's video diary is charming, but adds little to the proceedings, and will probably be the feature most overlooked. (That said, while the bonus disc has some great stuff, I see it quickly being forgotten in favor of the main event.) Also, unlike "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," I don't see "Mamma Mia!" appealing to many people outside its core audience.
The Price: $34.98
