Devotees of "The Big Chill" will find an automatic lure in this round of the FX series – which starts year three next week – though Glenn Close and William Hurt have much different characters here. Close continues as enigmatic, effective attorney Patty Hewes, who reluctantly agrees to represent a man from her past (Hurt) who's suspected in the murder of his wife.

As that case unfolds, Patty's employee Ellen (Rose Byrne) works with federal agents in a vendetta to bring Patty down. Ted Danson and Tate Donovan also return from the first season, with Marcia Gay Harden and Timothy Olyphant ("Deadwood") among other cast additions.
