'Fantastic Mr. Fox'

He might have seemed an unusual match for an animated movie, but director Wes Anderson ("The Royal Tenenbaums") proves a fine choice for the Roald Dahl story about a fox (voice of George Clooney) who tries to overcome the prowling tradition of his species.

He reverts to those ways, though, while also trying to keep his wife and son (voices of Meryl Streep and Jason Schwartzman) happy as a relative visits. The clever film also boasts Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Willem Dafoe in its voice cast. *** (PG: AS) (Also on Blu-ray)
