Seth Rogen was controversial casting as the playboy by day, masked hero by night who has informed comic books and television and radio shows over many years.
The result is uneven under director Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"), but the picture still has its moments as Britt Reid (Rogen) goes incognito to fight crime with fast-footed sidekick Kato (Jay Chou) in their massively tricked-out car, the Black Beauty. Cameron Diaz plays their helper, and "Inglourious Basterds" Oscar winner Christoph Waltz is the piece's villain.
