A youngster with Tourette's syndrome vies for the title role in a school production of "Alice in Wonderland" in a thoughtful drama boasting an excellent performance by Elle Fanning, Dakota's sister, in the central part.

The girl's parents (Felicity Huffman, Bill Pullman) worry about the effects the experience might have on her, but her drama teacher (Patricia Clarkson) keeps the faith that she'll be able to pull it off. Campbell Scott also stars. *** (PG-13: AS, P)
