William H. Macy displays his utter bravery as an actor by starring as the less-than-redeeming head of a Chicago family in this risky Showtime adaptation of a British series.

His character is hard-drinking and unreliable, so his eldest daughter (Emmy Rossum) takes responsibility for raising her five siblings and trying to figure out how to keep a roof over all their heads.
