There's been a lot of "The Terminator" around lately, also including Fox's now-defunct "Sarah Connor Chronicles" series, but this fourth installment of the feature-film franchise adds some new elements.

Perhaps the most notable one here is Sam Worthington, excellent as a stranger who impacts the now-adult John Connor's ( Christian Bale) ongoing battle against Skynet, the operation that has sent killer cyborgs from the future to eliminate what's left of the human race.

Director McG's cast also includes Anton Yelchin, Helena Bonham-Carter, Bryce Dallas Howard and rap star Common. *** (PG-13: P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
