With original director Wes Craven still on board as a producer, the cult horror classic gets an update that expectedly dives headfirst into gore and general unpleasantness.

Sara Paxton ("Aquamarine") plays one of two young friends who become prey for a gang of sadistic fugitives; they seek shelter at a house where, unbeknownst to them, the Paxton character's parents (Tony Goldwyn, Monica Potter) reside. Once the couple realize who victimized their daughter, a desire for vengeance takes over.
