'The Young Victoria'

Maybe best known now for Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell's acceptance declaration that she already had two of the awards, this drama does justice to the early years of the British monarch, as acted out quite capably by Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada").

Much of the focus is on Victoria's relationship with the love of her life, Prince Albert (Rupert Friend); also in the impressive cast are Paul Bettany, Jim Broadbent, Miranda Richardson and Mark Strong ("Sherlock Holmes"). *** (PG: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
