Drew Barrymore makes her debut as a director with this female roller-derby tale, and to her credit as a co-star as well, she doesn't ask the other actors to do anything she doesn't do herself. Ellen Page ("Juno") has the central role as a young woman who appears to have her life mapped out for her ... until her exposure to females on skates changes her aims, much to her mother's ( Marcia Gay Harden) dismay.
