Almost two decades after his last adventure, Harrison Ford returns as the man with the whip in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The film met with some disappointment at the box office; the DVD, though, moves all the action to the living room, where the action is closer and the setting allows for more casual viewing. That works much better for what "Crystal Skull's" creators admit is a B-movie.

Even better, the two-disc special edition is packed with extras. You've got interviews; restrospectives; video diaries from every stage of production; and smaller features about the movie's props, special effects, makeup and more.

DVD Bonus Features:

The Good: The pre-production diary gives a good feel for how 18 years away forced the movie's leads to rediscover their characters. The (long) production diary is both exhaustive and fascinating, showing what went right and what went wrong during the making of the film. An amazing amount of work went into revisiting the energy of the previous movies -- even stencils on the opening warehouse scene were created to match those at the close of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

The Bad: While the featurette itself is good, "The Return of a Legend" shows how the movie itself stumbled. Steven Spielberg makes multiple references to not wanting to bring back Indy, and George Lucas... I never thought I'd write this, but George Lucas' attempts to turn the franchise into a B-movie homage make me cringe. Worse is the glaring lack of any commentary. After so much time away, I was looking forward to hear shot-by-shot comments from the leads on what it was like to be back in action.

The Price: $39.99
