'Taking Chance'

Kevin Bacon gives a superb performance in this made-for-HBO drama, the true story of a Marine Corps analyst who volunteers to accompany the body of a U.S. soldier killed in Iraq to a hometown burial. The experience is profound and life-changing for the escort. Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, portrayed in the film by Bacon, co-wrote the script. Co-stars include Tom Wopat, Gordon Clapp ("NYPD Blue") and Paige Turco ("The Agency").
