Fans of FX shows like "The Shield" and "Rescue Me" didn't know what to make of "Justified" at first -- the story of a U.S. marshal (Timothy Olyphant) returning to work in his Kentucky hometown seemed awfully conventional at first. But as the season wore on, what they found was not only a great character in Olyphant's Raylan Givens (based on a character created by Elmore Leonard), but also a tightly woven web of conflicts involving brotherhood, family, drugs and money that developed into a hugely satisfying whole.
