It isn't that Sutherland gives a bad performance, it's that merely seeing him here will remind viewers that they shelled out 10 bucks a pop for something that isn't half as tense or tightly plotted as what Sutherland helps deliver every Monday night on "24."
  40. Kingdom of '7th Heaven' Ends Reign - "7th Heaven's" first series finale didn't take, so it's making another go of it.
  41. Jessica Alba Consults 'Love Guru' - Jessica Alba helped save the world as the Invisible Womanin the "Fantastic Four" films, but in her next role she just needs to save a hockey championship.
  42. Denzel and Russell Face Off in 'American Gangster' - Amid this fall's array of small, topical dramas, many of which have carried a medicinal aftertaste, "American Gangster" comes as something of a relief. It's a big, juicy 1970s period piece, one foot in real life, the other in the movies, the preferred stance of many Hollywood crime sagas. The film gathers steam slowly but surely. Near the end, after spending most of their screen time on parallel tracks, Denzel Washington, as Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas, mixes it up with Russell Crowe's narcotics cop Richie Roberts. Separately and, fleetingly, together, it's a pleasure to watch these two stars do their job. Director Ridley Scott's saga is full of lovely supporting work, too, from Chiwetel Ejiofor as one of Lucas' brothers to an outrageously hammy Armand Assante as a mafioso, to Josh Brolin, dripping with tough-guy privilege as a New York cop on the take.
  43. Shonda Rhimes' 'Inside the Box' lands lead - ABC's pilot "Inside the Box" has cast its lead role, tapping British actress Indira Varma for the Washington-set drama.
  44. 'Nip/Tuck' Work for Platt, Hutton - Three-time Emmy nominee Oliver Platt and model-actress Lauren Hutton will be featured on "Nip/Tuck" in the coming season.
  45. Warrant out for 'Transformers' Star Shia LaBeouf - On the celebrity crime scale, Shia LaBeouf is small potatoes, but he still needs to play by the rules.
  46. TV Fashion: Michael Westen of ‘Burn Notice’ - Spies on television and in film tend to be the best-dressed sons of guns you've ever seen. Simon Templar from "The Saint," Napoleon Solo from "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and, of course, James Bond have set a standard that is now equal parts expected and unrealistic.
  47. CW Courts Daytime Block - The CW is turning its eyes to its daytime programming with an afternoon block featuring a court series and two comedies.
