Casey Affleck's 'The Kind One'
Tom Epperson will adapt his own book
Based on the newly published novel by Tom Epperson, "The Kind One" is set in 1930s Los Angeles and, according to Variety, it focuses on a amnesiac (Affleck) who ends up working for a vicious mobster called "the Kind One." When he falls for the killer's girl, bad stuff happens.
Epperson, who co-wrote "One False Move," "A Family Thing" and "The Gift" with Billy Bob Thornton, will adapt his novel once the strike ends.
Sean Bailey will produce for his Disney-based shingle Idealogy.
It was a good 2007 for Affleck, who earned strong reviews for "Gone Baby Gone," in addition to a slew of awards and nominations for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
