Rocker traded her wife beater and tie for a more traditional wedding gown

He was everything, everything that she wanted, and now Avril Lavigne has her happy ending.

The 21-year-old Canadian rocker wed fiancee Deryck Whibley, guitarist and frontman for Sum 41, on Saturday near Santa Barbara, reports People.

They married outdoors on a private estate in Montecito. Lavigne wore a Vera Wang gown in the mostly traditional ceremony and exchanged vows with Whibley, 26, under an awning covered in white flowers.

The fellow rock-pop singers were friends for several years before they began dating in early 2004. The were engaged in Venice as she finished up the European leg of her tour in June last year. They have a home together in Los Angeles.

Lavigne's debut album "Let Go" went six-times platinum in 2002, and she received five Grammy nominations including best new artist. Her hits include "Complicated," "Sk8er Boi," "I'm With You" and the song she wrote for Kelly Clarkson, "Breakaway." She's currently working on her third album.

On the big screen, she recently voiced a possum named Heather in the animated "Over the Hedge." Her other upcoming films include "Fast Food Nation" and "The Flock."
