Penn Badgley, Dylan Walsh and Sela Ward will star
Also on board, according to Variety, are Dylan Walsh and Sela Ward, with Adrianne Palicki also in negotiations.
Badgley will play a teenage boy who begins to suspect that his mother's (Ward) new beau (Walsh) may be a notorious murderer.
Terry O'Quinn played the father in the original.
Production on "Stepfather" would begin this spring with Nelson McCormick ("Prom Night") directing from a script by J.S. Cardone.
Before "Gossip Girl," Badgley appeared in a number of short-lived shows including "The Bedford Diaries," "The Mountain" and "Do Over."
Walsh is currently starring in FX's "Nip/Tuck," while Ward won Emmys for both "Sisters" and "Once and Again." Palicki currently co-stars in NBC's "Friday Night Lights."
