Jim Carrey will star for Oscar nominated "Juno" director Jason Reitman on Fox Atomic's comedy "Pierre, Pierre."

According to the industry trades, the project is based around a spec script from Edwin Cannistraci and Fredrick Seton and will be produced by Escape Artists and Reitman's Hard C banner.

Budgeted at a modest $13 million, "Pierre, Pierre" focuses on a self-indulgent French nihilist (Carrey, for some reason) transporting a stolen painting from Paris to London. The trades both describe the project as a politically incorrect comedy.

Reitman's next film is the Diablo Cody-scripted horror-comedy "Jennifer's Body," also set up at Fox Atomic. The "Thank You For Smoking" helmer will produce "Jennifer's Body" with Karyn Kusama directing stars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried.

Last seen in "The Number 23" and "Fun with Dick and Jane," Carrey will be heard in the upcoming "Horton Hears a Who!" In addition to appearing in Robert Zemeckis' motion capture "A Christmas Carol," Carrey has "Yes Man" and "I Love You Phillip Morris" on his upcoming slate.
