'Clueless' sequel in the works?
Rumor says Alicia Silverstone, director seen talking sequel
Silverstone and "Clueless" director Amy Heckerling were recently overheard talking about the script for a sequel, according to Star magazine.
Unfortunately, the magazine was short on details as far as plot, timing, casting and so on.
The 1995 original, a modern update of Jane Austen's novel "Emma," followed high-school student Cher (Silverstone) in her role as self-appointed matchmaker to friends and teachers. As you'd expect, the setups for the most part had comedically bad outcomes. A television series ran from 1996 to 1999, with Heckerling returning for some writing and directing duties.
