'Titanic' star will play Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese

Paramount Picture has purchased the pitch "Atari" as a possible star vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to the industry trade papers, "Atari" comes from writers Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman and tells the story of videogame pioneer Nolan Bushnell, who founded both Atari and Chuck E. Cheese.

Hecker and Sherman secured Bushnell's life rights after pitching their approach to the entrepreneur.

The project will be set up through DiCaprio's Appian Way shingle.

Last seen in "Blood Diamond" and "The Departed," DiCaprio has "House of Lies" and "Revolutionary Road" coming out later this year. He's currently shooting "Shutter Island," his latest collaboration with director Martin Scorsese.
