Sony Pictures is about to reveal Will Ferrell as a "Two Face."

According to the industry trade papers Ferrell is attached to play the lead role in the dramedy "Two Face" (The Hollywood Reporter prefers "2-Face" as the title) which comes from writer Vince Gilligan ("Hancock") and producers Mark Johnson and Jimmy Miller.

The trades says that Ferrell has been circling Gilligan's script for three years, but he's only just become serious about the project, which focuses on a racist who develops a split personality after a prank goes wrong.

"Two Face" doesn't have a director attached, but Sony hopes to have the film in production by early next year before Ferrell goes to work on another picture with the studio, Columbia's comic Sherlock Holes film with Ferrell playing Watson to Sacha Baron Cohen's Holmes.

Last seen in the spring box office disappointment "Semi-Pro," Ferrell has "Step Brothers" opening later this summer and "Land of the Lost" set to open a year from now.
