Drama will star Greg Kinnear and Lauren Graham

Lauren Graham has committed to her first feature since the demise of "Gilmore Girls," the Universal drama "Flash of Genius."

Graham will appear with Greg Kinnear in the Spyglass-produced film, the directing debut of prolific producer Marc Abraham ("Children of Men," "Bring It On").

According to Variety, "Flash of Genius" will begin production in Toronto this July telling the story of Robert Kearns (Kinnear), inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper. While you'd think an invention like that would set a guy for life, Kearns spent much of his life battling automakers he accused of stealing his wiper. Graham will play Phyllis, Robert's long suffering wife.

Abraham co-wrote the script with Phillip Railsback and Scott Frank based on a John Seabrook New Yorker article.

After seven seasons on The WB and The CW, "Gilmore Girls" ended its run this May, three months after the release of Graham's most recent feature, "Because I Said So." Next to hit the big screen in "Evan Almighty," Graham has also done big screen time in "Bad Santa" and "The Pacifier."

An Oscar nominee for "As Good As It Gets," Kinnear won a SAG Award earlier this year as part of the ensemble of "Little Miss Sunshine." After also appearing in "Invincible," "Unknown" and "Fast Food Nation" last year, Kinnear will be seen in "The Feast of Love" in 2007.
