Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro star

Carla Gugino will play the female lead opposite titans Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino in the drama "Righteous Kill."

The long-awaited extending pairing of Pacino and DeNiro features the Oscar winners as New York cops on the trail of a serial killer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gugino will play a crime scene investigator who becomes a love interest for DeNiro's character.

The $60 million production will begin shooting at the end of the month with Jon Avnet directing.

Most recently seen on the small screen in "Entourage" and on the big screen in "The Lookout" and "Night at the Museum," Gugino appears in this winter's "American Gangster." She also recently booked the role of Sally Jupiter (a.k.a. Silk Spectre) in "Watchmen."
