Woody Harrelson Prepares to Fight Zombies
"Cheers" star signs on for "Zombieland" lead.
Woody Harrelson has signed on to star in "Zombieland," a horror comedy set up at Columbia.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harrelson will play a zombie fighter named Albuquerque in the Ruben Fleischer-directed project, which focuses on a pair of poorly matched survivors making their way in a zombie-occupied world. It's like "Shaun of the Dead" only with... Americans, we guess.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick ("The Joe Schmo Show") wrote the film.
Harrelson is currently shooting a different sort of post-apocalyptic drama, Roland Emmerich's 2012. The "Cheers" and "White Men Can't Jump" star was most recently seen in "Semi-Pro" and will have a supporting role in this winter's Will Smith drama "Seven Pounds."
