Heard joins Faris in fight club drama

Amber Heard, set to revel in her new-found "Hidden Palms" popularity, will take the female lead in the drama "Get Some."

Although the title makes the film sound a little lewd, "Get Some" is actually a "Karate Kid" for the underground fighting world with Heard in the Elisabeth Shue role.

Sean Faris stars as a young man who moves from Iowa to Florida and ends up involved in an underground fighting league. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heard will play a young woman who begins to feel a little romantic twitter for the Iowan after her boyfriend beats him up.

Jeff Wadlow ("Cry_Wolf") directs from a script by Chris Hauty.

Heard stars in the CW summer drama "Hidden Palms," premiering on Wednesday (May 30). The young actress recently lined up a role in the comedy "The Pineapple Express." Perhaps still best known as the young Charlize Theron in "North Country" (or one part of the swimming pool threesome in "Alpha Dog"), her work as the title character in "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" earned strong buzz at last fall's Toronto Film Festival.
