Will take Johnny Depp role in remake
Kyle Gallner has signed on to the "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He'll play Quentin, a podcast DJ that THR claims is a role analogous to Glen Lantz, Johnny Depp's character in the original film. Glen's death was one of the most spectacular in the film (and, at the time, in the genre).
"Watchmen" star Jackie Earle Haley has already been cast as the evil knife-fingered ghost Freddy Krueger.
Gallner, 22, recently co-starred in "The Haunting in Connecticut." He also played troubled teen Cassidy Casablancas in the television series "Veronica Mars."
