Golden Globe nominee will play hitman turned doctor

Leonardo DiCaprio is on the run.

The "Revolutionary Road" star will take the lead in "Beating the Reaper," a thriller recently acquired by New Regency. The movie will be based on Josh Bazell's as-yet unpublished novel, wherein a New York emergency-room doctor realizes a Mob boss may out his hitman past. DiCaprio would, presumably, play the hitman-turned-lifesaver.

DiCaprio, 34, was nominated for a best actor Golden Globe award for his work on "Road."
