Mama Lohan Defends Lindsay's 'Heat Exhaustion'
Letter by big bad studio exec is 'ridiculous'
Morgan Creek Production's CEO James G. Robinson fired off a letter to Lohan on Wednesday, July 26 that accused her of skipping work on the film "Georgia Rule" because of her excessive partying and threatening financial repercussions if she didn't shape up.
"I feel when you are 19 [years old] it is way out of line," the starlet's mom, Dina Lohan, tells "Access Hollywood," apparently forgetting that her little girl is now 20. "Maybe he has personal issues with whomever and it came out with my child. I don't know him. I can't judge him. I don't think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl."
Last week, the younger Lohan was taken to the hospital to be treated for dehydration and heat exhaustions during the height of Los Angeles' heat wave. Rumors have speculated that it wasn't the heat, but the actress' partying ways that caused her to miss shooting on her latest film, especially since she was seen clubbing that night.
Dina Lohan acknowledged that her daughter has been late for work in the past, causing production to be rescheudled, but insists this latest incident was exactly as represented.
"Lindsay was in 105 [degree weather] saying, 'Mommy, I feel sick; like I am going to faint,'" says the mother. "She took herself to the hospital. She has asthma and in extreme cold or heat you can't breathe."
Robinson's letter, which appears in its entirety on TheSmokingGun.com, states, "You and your representatives have told us that your various late arrivals and absences from the set have been the result of illness; today we were told it was heat 'heat exhaustion.' We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion.' We refuse to accept bogus excuses for your behavior."
The missive continues to call her "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional" and a "spoiled child" whose lousy work ethic has cost the film "hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage." If her bad behavior continues, Robinson insists that the production company will pursue "full monetary damages" and "take such other action as we deem necessary to preserve the integrity of the 'Georgia Rule' production."
Dina Lohan says the letter's wording is "ridiculous." The "Access Hollywood" interview airs Monday (July 31) night.
Lindsay has been treated for asthma and exhaustion in the past. She returned to work on "Georgia Rule," a film co-starring Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman, on Thursday, July 27.
